While I certainly wish Evan Bayh and his family the best in their future personal endeavors, I believe his decision to retire from the U.S. Senate is wise and will be welcomed by Hoosiers who have become properly upset and angered by the policy legacy he helped to create and has left behind. We the People have awakened to make our voices known at Tea Party rallies and town halls all around our great state. We are now standing shoulder to shoulder with the Constitution in one fist and common sense in the other to say “Hell NO!” to politicians and politics as usual, and with a committed resolve of restoring and securing our individual liberties, states rights, and the United States sovereignty. I strongly oppose Evan’s “service record”. He voted down Conservative Justices Roberts and Alito, while voting to confirm the polarizing Sotomayor. He supported policies which will bankrupt the Indiana coal industry forcing the loss of thousands of jobs and greatly increasing energy costs for Hoosiers. I oppose his wild TARP and “stimulus” spending sprees to bailout auto companies, his banking cronies and to curry favor with special interest lobbyists. Evan Bayh's backroom dealings to socialize America’s health care system is the epitome of what is wrong with today's politics. Evan’s votes over the last 11 years have produced a greatest “Hock & Roll the American People” hits list. This has included producing a Federal government that has overstepped its Constitutional bounds, reducing personal freedoms, and creating a debt that our grandchildren will not be able to repay, threatening their future and that of our Republic. Perhaps Evan got a glimpse of the power of a true grass roots movement and it scared him, as well it should…or any other politician or party in this race. I wonder, however, will the Bayh family return to Indiana or follow Dan Coats’ lead of planning to retire in North Carolina?
